Castro is an accountant/entrepreneurial economist and teacher of accounting at the CPA level. He has previously held the position of departmental secretary for education in the Curaçao, Aruba, and Bonaire Conference. He was first licensed in 1980 in the Netherlands as PA3DVP, and is currently treasurer of his local ham club.
